Inclusive Child Development

Emerson Academy is an inclusive child development center, serving children 6 weeks to six years. Our child-centered program emphasizes hands-on, literacy based learning opportunities that promote a lifetime love of learning. Activities are tailored to meet each child’s unique needs and stages of development.

Educational research has shown that when children with special needs and typically developing children learn together, everyone benefits. All children, including those with special needs, are assessed throughout the year, and their progress is monitored on an on-going basis. Parent-Teacher Conferences are also held quarterly. Emerson Academy works with outside agencies, such as Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and school districts, to provide continuity of care.
