What to Expect:
The Firefly Classroom is a cooperative learning environment where children ages 4-6 learn and grow together. We believe that a great teacher/parent relationship is vital for your child’s success, and we encourage parents to be active members of their child’s education by visiting and/or volunteering in the classroom.
Our curriculum is developed to provide a comprehensive, inclusive preschool program that instills a life-long love of learning through research-based teaching practices. The curriculum consists of thematic units that focus on developing literacy and math skills, as well as communication and social skills. The teachers focus on individualized math and reading objectives during one-on-one and small group instruction, while socialization and communication are promoted throughout the day.
We look forward to working with you and your child!
A teacher will be available to communicate with parents during Drop-off and Pick-up times. Please be sure to make eye contact, verbal contact, and convey a health check with a teacher while dropping off and picking up to ensure your child’s safety.
Each child will have a mailbox next to the Cubbies as you walk in the classroom. Please check your child’s mailbox everyday for important information and their wonderful artwork!
We will also be writing a few questions of the day on the White board as you walk in the door. These are great questions to ask your child to see what they learned that day!
*Please feel free to talk to Miss Melissa or Miss Yesinia about any questions or concerns you might have*
